How to Pay

Managing your Cloud subscription billing

We’re introducing a new billing engine to make it easier for you to manage your cloud subscriptions. Depending on your account, your subscriptions may be managed in either the original or the improved billing experience. To find out which billing experience applies to you, visit this page.

Atlassian accepts credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers (wire/ACH), mailed checks, and Net-14/Net-30 terms for eligible orders.

  • For monthly subscriptions, we accept credit card, PayPal, or ACH direct debit (where available) only
  • For annual subscriptions, we accepted all approved payment options

For additional details or if you need to manage your payment method, visit this page.

Billing cycles

Monthly billing cycle

  • Accepted payment methods: Credit card, PayPal, and ACH direct debit (where available) - Bitbucket Cloud must be paid via credit card
  • How it works: When you add your credit card, PayPal, or ACH direct debit details to your monthly cloud site, we’ll process your payment at the start of the next billing cycle, and continue to charge it at the start of each billing cycle moving forward unless canceled

Annual billing cycle

  • In our legacy billing system, annual subscriptions can be paid via credit card, bank transfer/ACH, check, PayPal, or Net-30 payment terms
  • In our new billing engine:
    • annual termed subscription can be paid via credit card, bank transfer/ACH, check, PayPal, Net-14, or Net-30 payment terms
    • annual auto-renewing subscriptions can only be paid via credit card, PayPal, or ACH direct debit

For Net-14/Net-30 payment terms, orders placed must be paid via wire transfer or ACH.

Payment methods

Credit card

  • Accepted cards: Visa, American Express (AMEX), and MasterCard (Discover is not supported)
  • Processing time: At the start of the next billing cycle
  • How to pay: Visit the Atlassian shopping cart for purchases in the legacy billing system, and visit admin.atlassian.com/billing for our new billing engine

PayPal

  • Eligibility: Available for all purchases in the legacy billing system and the new billing engine
  • Processing time: At the start of the next billing cycle

Recurring payments can be set up for monthly renewals. For instructions on how to add your PayPal account to your cloud site, see How do I add my PayPal account to my cloud site? in our Purchasing FAQ.

Bank transfer (Wire/ACH)

  • Eligibility: Available for annual subscriptions and for Net-14/Net-30 term orders
  • Processing time: Self-managed license keys and/or annual cloud subscriptions are provisioned after receipt of payment in the legacy billing system, typically within 7-14 business days, while annual cloud subscriptions in the new billing engine are provisioned after the order is placed

  • Instructions: Bank transfer details are on the first page of your quote - reference your quote/invoice number on your payment and send remittance to accountsreceivable@atlassian.com

Bank transfer is the only accepted payment method for Net-14/Net-30 payment term orders in both the legacy billing system and new billing engine. ACH is available for US banks only.

ACH direct debit (US banks only)

  • Eligibility: USD transactions only - requires a valid US bank account
    • Customers outside the US can use this method if they have a US bank account
  • Processing time: 1–3 business days

The term “US bank account” is used for clarity, but terminology may change pending UI updates.

Check

  • Eligibility: Accepted for annual subscriptions (AUD is not available)
  • Processing time: Self-managed licenses and/or annual cloud subscriptions in the legacy billing system cannot be provisioned until receipt of payment, typically within 7-14 business days, while annual cloud subscriptions in the new billing engine are provisioned after the order is placed

Net-14 payment terms

  • Eligibility: Available for annual term cloud subscriptions between USD 1,000 and USD 50,000 (pre-tax) in the new billing engine
  • How it works: Place an order and pay the invoice within 14 days - no credit check required

Net-14 payment terms are not available for annual auto-renewing subscriptions. This option must be paid via wire transfer or ACH.

Net-14 payment terms are not available in the legacy billing system.

Net-30 payment terms

  • Eligibility:
    • Legacy billing system: Available for annual Cloud subscriptions and Enterprise purchases of USD 10,000 or more (pre-tax)
    • New billing engine: Available for annual termed cloud subscriptions of USD 50,000 or more (pre-tax) after a one-time credit check and application with a tax ID
    • How it works: Place an order and pay the invoice within 30 days - orders of USD 50,000 or more require a manual credit check

Once you’re approved for Net-30 payment terms in the new billing engine, any future purchases can be made using this option up to the approved credit limit, meaning additional credit checks are not needed.
